Entebbe Airport
The most convenient way to trek gorillas on a short trip to Uganda is to fly into Kigali, Rwanda, which offers a quicker drive to the southern sectors of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. However, travelers can also fly into Entebbe and take domestic flights to either Kisoro or Kihihi airstrips within Uganda. Bwindi has several gorilla trekking sectors—Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo—all home to habituated gorilla families and located within a few hours’ drive of each other.
For those flying into Kihihi, Buhoma is the most accessible trekking sector. Alternatively, if arriving via Kisoro, it’s more convenient to trek in the Nkuringo or Rushaga sectors. These options provide flexibility depending on your entry point and flight schedule, allowing you to experience one of the most unforgettable wildlife encounters in East Africa.

For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. A ranger will brief you on how to behave with the gorillas.
